We are pleased to announce the Seventh Annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference. The conference will focus on educating and motivating dynamic Women of Color to lead more effectively.

This conference will take place on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More than 500 Women Leaders to Convene in South Florida
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – More than women leaders from South Florida and around the nation will come together at the 7th Annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference (WOCEC), taking place September 8th – 10th, 2017 at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, 321 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304. The three-day WOCEC weekend strives to cultivate, educate and encourage dynamic women leaders of color. This year’s WOCEC will feature a long list of powerhouse leaders from across the country, thought provoking panels, informative workshops and networking events.
– Friday September 8th – 6:30 pm, The Women of Color Empowerment Institute, Inc. in conjunction with community partners, will host a Welcome Reception and Comedy Show emceed by Funnyman/Actor Jonathan Slocumb (Meet the Browns, The Steve Harvey Show, etc.). Some of the funniest men and women on the national comedy circuit will perform at an evening perfect for couples or a friends’ night out. Tickets: $75 each or $500 for VIP table of 4 with special gifts and adult beverages.
– Saturday, September 9th — 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, The Empowerment Conference begins with breakfast featuring morning keynote speaker, The Honorable Maxine Waters, United States Congresswoman. The conference luncheon keynoter is the dynamic Angela Rye, principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, CNN political commentator and NPR political analyst. Saturday concludes with a networking reception and graduation ceremony for the Women of Color Empowerment Institute’s second class of young professional mentees. Tickets for Saturday’s full day of programming including meals are $125 each.
– Sunday, September 10th — 8:30 am, The Women of Color Empowerment Conference comes to a close with The Spirit of Sisterhood Breakfast With Tamron Hall, The breakfast will offer a moment to reflect, network, inspire and inform featuring award-winning journalist, Tamron Hall. Tickets are $55 each.
The objective of the annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference is to create a safe environment for women of color to receive and share vital information, build unmatched connections and to provide a powerful space in which leaders and future leaders are united.
